A gunite pool and spa on a sloping lot

Sloping lots are where gunite earns its cost. Because the shell is formed on site, the pool can be shaped to the ground rather than the ground being fought into shape around a fixed shell.

The build took in the excavation, the retaining needed to hold the change in level, and the decking that ties the pool back to the house. A spillover spa sits at the high end, so it reads as part of the pool rather than a separate tub parked next to it.

Because one team carried the earthworks, the shell and the finishes, the drainage and the levels were resolved together instead of being handed between trades.
